Acer saccharum

Maple, Sugar

The sugar maple is one of America’s best loved trees.  Its dense, rounded crown makes it the benchmark for shade trees. The bright green leaves turn into spectacular colors of scarlet, orange and gold in the fall. Fruit is the two-winged samara. It is a long-lived tree which grows moderate to slow and is known for its delicious syrup.
