Achillea 'Coronation Gold'

Large clusters of golden yellow flowers up to 4 inches across all summer long. The strong, upright stems do not require staking. This variety has aromatic, gray-green foliage and is quite heat tolerant.  'Coronation Gold' is popular as a cut flower all over the world due to its stiff, upright stems and large flower heads. This is also the best variety of yarrow to use for drying.

Yarrow Growing and Maintenance Tips

Yarrow is one of the easiest perennials to grow and is a good choice for beginners. All it needs is full sun and well-drained soil. It thrives in average to poor soil and is drought tolerant once established. Plants grown in rich soil tend to be tall and floppy. After the flowers have faded, cut the plant back by half. This will likely stimulate a second flush of blooms in late summer. Do not let plants go to seed. Most varieties do not come true from seed. Divide every few years to keep plants to a manageable size.
