Alkanet, Dwarf Growing and Maintenance Tips
This plant will deliver its best performance when grown in lean, well-drained soil on the dry side and full sun. Good drainage is essential, especially in winter. When grown in rich, moist soil, the plants may be lanky and invasive. When it is finished blooming, cut this plant back hard (to the ground). This will encourage rebloom, but even more importantly it helps to form a stronger basal rosette of foliage which is key to overwintering. Do not mulch. Wear gloves when handling this plant, as it may cause skin irritation.
